Gang Related Shootings in the Old Capital Escalate

Chester Williams

The man who fired at Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, Zacharia Knox, was picked up shortly after at a residence on Benbow Street. Police have also gotten a lucky break, since the expended shells found at this scene appear to match those from a shooting earlier in the day. That one happened at around five pm on West Street in Belize City, and preceded another which led to the attempted murder of Williams.

ACP Chester Williams, Commander, Eastern Division South

“One Aaron Garbutt was met suffering from gunshot wounds to the feet. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released for those injuries. The other shooting took place shortly before 9:00pm where Police again received information of shots fired on Euphrates Avenue and upon responding Police met a male person known as Mark Vernon suffering from gunshot wounds to the lower back. He was transported to the KHMH where he is currently admitted in stable condition.”

  1. CEO says:

The police need to come down on these SOB’s very hard!

Real gangsters know that the police is off limits because when you mess with the police you bring down the law and the wrath of law enforcement on yourself. Not to mention the attention you bring to yourself.

They need to feel your presence.
