BPP Proposes Bypassing the ICJ
Lending its unwavering support to the B.N.T.U. at today’s rally was the Belize Progressive Party. The B.P.P. is of the position that government has not relaxed the law and that government needs to look at other options to deal with the Guatemalan aggression. The reason, according to Patrick Rogers, is because the situation has escalated beyond a mere territorial dispute. Guatemala continues to pose a national security threat to Belize.

“I don’t know how you would say sort of relax. To me it was, we made a statement on the very day that we wanted cameras out at the Sarstoon to see if the Guatemalan fisher folks were still accessing the north side of that Sarstoon which would then allow us to be able to mount this constitutional challenge based on discrimination, that only a certain segment of the people are not allowed to go there. Well what do you know, the Guatemalan media picked up on that and so to me, when I heard that, it was kind of telling the Guatemalans, “No, dis law dah no fi unu. Da only fi fi we lee Belizean crowd weh wi wahn lock off.” So it’s not about relaxing the law. The irony of it is that not even our Belize Defense Force personnel now are being allowed to traverse that island and Guatemala is claiming that we need to respect some protocol that we didn’t sign on to. So we have been annexed, a portion of our territory has been annexed and the dynamics have changed and the BPP has been calling now to take dis thing da wahn notha level. We can’t even discuss going to the ICJ with wahn hostile neighbor, we want to go straight to the UN Security Council because the hostility has now given us the grounds needed to bypass the ICJ as an option and to go straight to the security council.”
BPP, I really appreciate that you stand up for our country, most Belizeans are relaxed concerning this Guat issue. This no “F” joke !!! They are really taking our country, and sad to say but all those HIGH officers in this country of Belize that have been enjoying their highly paid offices will be sorry, soon they will loose their seat to Guates workers. Sounds foolish? you laugh? these Guatemalan people are aggressive and they will kick all of you off your nicely paid offices !!!
ALL DEPTS., AND ALL WORKERS SHOULD COME TOGETHER TO FIND A WORKING SOLUTION TO THIS GUATE AGGRESSION, THIS IS NO JOKE !!!

Exactly Rogers, you represent Belize and it’s people because the Incompetent Barrow along with PUP, will give away not only a portion but the whole country. ICJ is not working and you have to take it to the next level.

In wake of the Guatemalan/Belizean dispute, I would like to ask all of my Facebook friends just one question: “ARE YOU SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS?” Socially Conscious is defined as consciousness shared within a society. It can also be defined as social awareness; to be aware of the problems that different societies and communities face on a day-to-day basis; to be conscious of the difficulties and hardships of society. So ask yourself this question right now. Do you care that a hostile country who has always claim ownership of your land is at your doorstep with enough force to take it from you right now, today, this hour, this minute, this second. Do you care that over 1500 people have been murdered in Belize since 2000 and just 3-5 percent were convicted of their crimes. Do you understand the ramifications of the Panama Papers, going to the ICJ and the amount of debt Belize owe. Do you work together to solve the problems of your society (poverty, crime, healthcare, crooked politicians, education, starvation and job creation). Ask yourself this question and take a step back and look. Your life as you know it right now can be changed later today or tomorrow. The real question you should ask yourself is “What Am I Going To Do About It”. Rise and Grind, make a change, let your voices be heard. This is after all social media – right?
