Did Police Pummel Zachry Knox Following Incident Involving Top Cop?
On May twelfth, nineteen-year-old Zachry Knox allegedly fired three shots at Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams during a high speed chase in the city. Knox was picked up that same night and has been charged for attempted murder, but two weeks after, he still hasn’t been arraigned in Court. There’s a reason for that. Knox is currently at the K.H.M.H., reportedly in very serious condition. According to family members, the young man has had to take dialysis treatment for damage to his kidneys after a severe beating at the hands of Police Officers which left him clinging to life. Reliable information is that Knox’s dreads were also ripped out of his head, and he is allegedly still in very serious condition. Today, we asked Williams to explain to us exactly what happened between Knox’s apprehension and admittance to the K.H.M.H.
ACP Chester Williams, Regional Commander, Eastern Division South
“What update do you want?”
Mike Rudon
“Sir to be straight. That fellow, the last report we got, he fired at you. He was apprehended that same evening and somehow from there to this point he is at the K.H.M.H. in what is critical condition up to a couple days ago. Could you take us from the apprehension to him being at the K.H.M.H.?”
ACP Chester Williams
“I don’t know.”
ACP Dezerie Phillips, Regional Commander, Eastern Division North
“I’m not able to speak to that.”
Mike Rudon
“But I don’t understand; this person was in police custody.”
ACP Chester Williams
“I don’t know Mister Rudon, I don’t know.”
“Final answer.”
Voice of: Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, PR, Eastern Division North
“That matter is at the court, Mister Rudon. If you understand clearly, he said that that person has not been arraigned as yet so then it would be prejudicial for him to comment on anything relating to that case because everything will have to come out in front of a magistrate.”
Mike Rudon
“But it is not before the court yet, so he could comment on it.”
Voice of: Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood
“No. That person has been charged, but not arraigned as yet. That is why he cannot comment.”
Reporter
“So why is the arraignment taking so long to happen?”
Voice of: Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood
“Well like you rightly mentioned, you know where the person is. You said he is at the hospital.”
Mike Rudon
“But ma’am is that not of concern to you? This is a person who was in police custody and ended up at the K.H.M.H. in critical condition. Nobody can speak to that?”
Voice of: ACP Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Rural Eastern Division
“There’s only one person that can answer who gave you the answer – Chester Williams.”
Reporter
“I don’t know.”
Knox’s family here has declined an interview until he is out of the hospital, but we can confirm that they have retained the services of two attorneys, Oscar Selgado and Phillip Palacio.
Ghost beat him up. I did hear that the station is haunted.
If they did- so what- we live in bronze and accept that that is our justice- keep it up police – send that message- if you shoot at police- you will die
Here we go again, “Mi no no”. How can one of our top cops make a statement like that? I agree that if this person is in fact the shooter, then he deserves to have the shit beat out of him . . . BUT that is not the legal way . . . but unfortunately it is the way of the Belize police. Totally unaccountable.
jajaja no comments when williams willing to comment and work with the people. This is torture so this is what he really stands for when talking about working with the people hmmmmm funny
Got what he deserved. Nobody should shoot at any police officer. He had no respect so he needed some to be beaten into him. I don’t have any sympathy for him. In other countries he would have turned up missing.
I understand that there is a slippery slope with alleged actions like this from the police. Innocent people might, but unlikely, be caught in a situation where they would be abused by police. This is a risk I am willing to accept considering these monsters on the street who kill, rob, rape and get off Scott free after killing or intimidating complainants or witnesses. I support the police 100%. F@#k Knox and people like him.
If i was Chester i would eliminate three of these scum bags they have to respect for authority.Where was all the outrage when they made an attempt to murder Chester. He get exactly what he deserve.

ASP Williams! Accidents happen and the law abiding public understands this!
He got hurt while trying to allude and evade your men! His dreads got caught in a fence and he dropped and banged his head on a……….Damn media just looking for a story!
ASP please next time have your weapon on you cause you could have saved yourself and the country a lot of time and money! If you had your weapon you and your department would not need to be answering any questions right now. Anything you would have done to the some-bitch then would have been justified! The medical resources being used on him now could have been saved to put to better use!
GOOD JOB!
I MUST HONESTLY SAY THAT CHESTER WILLIAMS OR MUST I SAY CHESTER LEE IS A CRUCKED COP, I CAN TESTIFY TO. A FEW YEARS AGO RENE VILLANUEVA FROM LOVE FM HAD HIM ARERESTED ME IN SAN IGNACIO TOWN,THEN ESCORTED TO BELIZE WHERE HI BITCHES HAD ORDERS FROM CHESTER TO KEEP ME IN LOCK DOWN, AFTER 3DAYS THEY CHARGED ME WITH SEVERAL CHARGES. YES I PLEADED GUILTY BUT THE FORM OF WHICH IT WAS DONE BY CHESTER ORDER WASNT RIGHT. ALL THAT COMMUNITY PROGRAMME HES DOING IS JUST TO TRY AND COVER HIS ASS. I MUST TELL U MY BROTHER CHESTER I GOT U AND ILL GET PRETTY SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are we suppose to feel sorry for this guy?
Mien I can’t believe how these top ranking police officers are behaving. What examples can they set!? That is why a lot of corruption is rampant. They are the law keepers or so called enforcers so they should stick to it. Let the law take its course
Kill dem all an don
