Gun-toting Urbie is Released on Bail
After two nights on remand at the Belize Central Prison, thirty-five year old police officer, Urbie Alamilla is out on bail granted to him this morning by Supreme Court Judge, Justice Antoinette Moore. Bail was set at eight thousand dollars and the Justice imposed conditions that Alamilla has to meet. He is to surrender all travelling documents and report to the Racoon Street Police Station periodically. Police confirmed today that he has been interdicted from the force. On June twenty-second, 2016, Alamilla was charged for discharging a firearm in a public place, the Green Jade Restaurant in Ladyville. Alamilla allegedly intervened in a dispute between two residents. He pulled out a firearm and fired a single shot. The officer claimed he was only helping a violent situation that escalated in front of him. His attorney, Dickie Bradley, says Alamilla was doing his job and should have never been charged criminally. The cop is due back in Court on August ninth, 2016. Two weeks ago, Alamilla, also fired shots in public; his police issued weapon was taken away, but he was not charged.
That’s why Belize is so messed up. No strict laws that can lock up ass**** like Alamilla.
