P.U.P. Calls for an Investigation of Former GSU Commander
Following an allegation of sexual assault against a minor, Superintendent Mark Flowers has been replaced by Inspector Glenn Caliz as head of the GSU. It all happened while Flowers is on holiday. The P.U.P. and its women’s arm issued a release today condemning the alleged abuse and exploitation perpetrated on defenseless individuals by high officials who are sworn to serve and protect. The P.U.P. says it is outraged at this latest complaint against Flowers and other reports of his abuse of office. It also calls on authorities to investigate this matter fully and fearlessly, with no special treatment to Flowers because of his position. According to the P.U.P., the accuser is a thirteen year old girl from a very poor and disadvantaged family in the south side of Belize City. In response to police seeking substantial proof before moving against Flowers, the P.U.P. says that this is completely unacceptable since once a credible report and complaint of unlawful sexual intercourse has been made against anyone, the police must bring charges. The release ends with a call on the National Committee for Families and Children (NCFC), the Special Envoy for Women and Children, as well as other child protection agencies to raise their voices against the abuse of children.

Not surprising to me,what is surprising is that almost 80% of inmates at the Belize Central Prison is also alleged suspects.Yet they are still remanded awaiting their case to try, even without evidence. So i want to ask the nation and so called ranking people,WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THIS MAN AND HIS CASE.DESPITE OF HIS RANKING,In my book he wont be the first and last officer to hop on a alleged case. This is a minor, let he suffer the correct consequence like any one of us.The system need to echo for the ones without voice.
