Dickie Bradley Says Flowers is Still Commander of the GSU

According to Bradley, Flowers remains commander of the Gang Suppression Unit despite recent announcements that he has since been replaced by Inspector Glenn Caliz.  Bradley says his client is a senior public officer and as such the Public Services Commission and the Police Services Commission are the only two agencies empowered to remove him.  To date nothing has been submitted to Flowers in writing.

“The commander of the GSU, who I think according to news, have said that he is either to be relieved of—you would know better than myself if he has been relieved—but in his discussions with myself, he has received no letter, nothing official, nothing formal. Because there is a very serious matter involved in terms of procedure and procedure is a substantive part of the law. the Commander of the GSU, Mark Flowers, is in fact of such senior rank in the police department that he is in fact a public officer and as a public officer, he comes within the jurisdiction of the Public Services Commission—and in his case, there is a Police Services Commission. And he has no word that the Police Services Commission has made any directive or perhaps even received any submissions from his department. I start there because legally he is still in charge of the GSU despite whatever announcements.”

Flowers is expected to hold a press conference in which he will speak of the ongoing investigation on his status.
