Flowers Claims He Offered to take DNA Test
Flowers is not going down quietly. Today he provided a one-on-one interview on a number of explosive issues such as his relations with suspected murderer William “Danny” Mason; what he knows about financial contributions made to several politicians and of course about, Minister John Saldivar, his boss, who has not uttered a word to him in two years. Flowers believes he has been being set up to distract attention. Prior to his arraignment he was candid when he answered these and other hot button topics questions including the serious allegation of sexual assault. The two charges brought against the former GSU commander stem from alleged encounters with the daughter of a former employee who worked as a farmhand on his property in the village of Black Man Eddy, Cayo District. According to the Flowers, the complaint was filed while he was away on vacation and coincides with the termination of her stepfather as the caretaker of his farm. While he initially offered to take a paternity test to prove whether the child the expectant teenager is carrying is his, that proposal has since been dismissed. Flowers says that the suggestion was set aside due to ministerial interference.

“Begin firstly by talking to us about this sexual allegation. Where does it come from, how your name got involved and where we are in terms of you either handing in yourself to face charges for these allegations made against you?”
Supt. Mark Flowers, Former Commander, GSU
“Alright, I was away, I was out of the country since July second this year and I returned on July eighteenth, last Monday to the surprise that there was a report or allegation made against me in relation to this child and a pregnancy. I immediately offered my superior officer who is the Acting Commissioner, Mr. Blackett, by way of telephone, to supply whatever bodily fluid may be necessary for a DNA test to be doen immediately. It was my first reaction because scientifically that is an accurate way of making a determination. He had promised yes that they were going to do that. I think in last Thursday’s segment of the news they said that they were in fact not rushing to judgment and that they were going to do just that. Since then I have been informed that there has been outside interference coming from the ministry and in particular from the Minister of National Security that there should be no such test and that they should proceed with an arrest. I have no problem. I’ve also learned yesterday after I spoke with Mr. Blackett and informed him that I was on my way to consulting with attorneys in Belize City that they subsequently went on to suggest that I am a fugitive. I came back to this country on the eighteenth, I have absolutely nothing to run from. I am never going to shun away from the process. They have the freedom, they have the right to carry out an investigation. The only thing I am asking them to do is to do a professional investigation and to use the resources that are available to do this investigation. What better way than by DNA testing. I am not and never have been in any sexual contact with that little girl and it can be easily proven.”
Yeah, right. Pay back is a bitch!
