United States to Assist Belize with Hurricane Relief
Relief efforts continue across the country in the aftermath of Hurricane Earl. G.O.B. through its partner agencies as well other humanitarian organizations have been providing support to the many families that were affected by the category one hurricane that hit Belize on August third. The government has approached the U.S. Government through the embassy in Belmopan for funding. Ambassador Carlos Moreno told the media that the U.S. is in the process of finalizing its assistance to Belize.
Carlos Moreno, U.S. Ambassador to Belize
“We are in the process of compiling the various forms of assistance, some of which I believe will come from this very unit that organized this event today, the Military Liaison Office, SouthCom. We have proposals going forward to provide hurricane assistance. And initially USAID, the office of Foreign Disaster Assistance provided the necessary funds for the day after flyovers that were conducted. We also provided hygiene kits and a water filtration equipment to Bullet Tree Falls on the west side. And we have other proposals that I anticipate will be approved by the state department. As the ambassador, I have certain discretionary authority and as we speak, this morning, I signed a memo or table as we call it, requesting the approval of specific forms of assistance. I should note that we are working very closely in hand with Lily Bowman of the Belize Red Cross and she is working with NEMO so we are in the picture and we intend to comply with fulfilling our obligations as requested by the Prime Minister.”
This is because Belize bowed to them with the LGBT AGENDA and then they are willingly giving this help as a show of good will behind it not the help they tend to show. Why until now do they want to help since it was suppose to be done immediately after the hurricane, pretty smart Uncle Sam but not all of us Belizeans have our eyes closed.
Why in the guat side they are helping the chapines gear up with a good set recently with Army vehicle and a lot of army surplus things.
