But Eastern Division South Regional Commander, ACP Chester Williams, says that information gathered so far indicates that the stabbing murder of McKenzie Junior was carried out by a member of the George Street Gang. Williams says that he’s been doing interventions to ensure that there is no retaliation.

“I had to be very busy over the weekend, hardly got any rest, being here, there and mediating between these different groups and trying to see how best I can discourage them from retaliating or to go out and do anything out of the way. And we must understand that when people are upset and people’s emotions run high; that that is the time that they become more vulnerable to do things out of the way. I have done as best as I could have over the weekend to mitigate the situation and as you could have seen, no other incident occurred thereafter.”

“You just mentioned that you are conducting mediations with two groups. What two groups are these?”
ACP Chester Williams
“Well you would know that the Pink’s Alley crowd is affiliated or have some connection to South Side Gangsters and then Pink’s Alley crowd again have some affiliation with Banak Street because the son of George McKenzie do have affiliations in Banak. So we have to be mediating between Banak, South Side and George Street because from information the stabbing was done by George Street. So we do not want there to be any spillover or retaliation coming either from South Side or Banak.”
If I were the commissioner I wouldn’t be wasting time protecting the gang bangers from killing each other. What we need is less of them. The more they kill each other the safer Belize will be.
Maybe the government can facilitate and speed the process by getting the gangs together in a venue where they can do battle with each other. Like the Roman gladiators. The government can charge the public a fee to watch the carnage. Hattieville or Ladyville are good locations. Chester can be a referee. In one weekend, we can get rid of our scourge, the public will be safer; we will save money by not wasting our resources, we will make a money from the admission fees; tourists will arrive in droves to witness the event. Perhaps we can make this part of our September celebration. What say you.

Why would they do that when the gangs serve them? All this negotiating with gangs are all bullshit. Chester knows this, but his hands are tied. he knows all he is allowed to do is put on a show for the public and the cameras. Chester has good intentions. He just doesn’t have the backing of the government. The government DOES NOT WANT the gangs eliminated. In a small country like ours, don’t you think if the government really wanted, they could have ended gangs a long time ago?
