Howell Longsworth on Comments by Pastor Wade

Howell Longsworth

On Thursday, the president of the Belize Association of Evangelical Churches was castigated by Pastor Louis Wade who claims that Pastor Howell Longsworth is a functionary of the U.D.P.   Wade alleges that Pastor Rocke’s vote may have been influenced.  Today, we put that question to Pastor Longsworth who flatly rejected the allegation.

Isani Cayetano

“There have been allegations made against you in other corners of the Evangelical community.  Do you care to respond to some of the statements made by Pastor Louis Wade on Thursday, following the Prime Minister’s press conference?”

Pastor Howell Longsworth

“As the president of the Belize Association of Evangelical Churches, we are the only legally represented body that has been able to put the senator in position and I will not enter into any fuss or any fight with any other entity or any person who wants to pull us in that.  It’s not about that, it’s about unity, it’s about oneness, it’s about love.  If they have made their decisions we will not enter into that decision.  Our senator is fully supported by the members of the Belize Association of Evangelical Churches and we have received subsequent support from the entire Baptist Association with his position as senator.”

Isani Cayetano

“One of the charges made against you is that this is the result of political maneuvering, if I may, with regards to your background.  The comment made is that you are a member or a supporter of the United Democratic Party and as such you have been placed in a strategic position, so to speak, where you can influence the way that the senate and the senator operates.  That’s one of the charges made against.  Care to respond?”

Pastor Howell Longsworth

“I never knew that according to them I was so powerful and I have not made any influence or anything, even on this issue to the senator.  I did not call him except for telling him that whatever situation he must vote his conscience.  That’s it.”

These people are the devils in persons. They care for themselves rather than care for the country. But they will come when judgement will be done.
