Union Representatives Will Go Back to Their Membership to Discuss Proposal
The B.N.T.U., the Association of Public Service Senior Managers and the Public Service Union remained in session well after the PM’s departure. When they emerged from that extended discussion, B.N.T.U. president Luke Palacio did not share much with the media, except to say that what was discussed today will be relayed to the respective councils of management. When pressed for additional information, Palacio was brief in his response.
Luke Palacio, National President, BNTU
“We’ve met with the prime minister, we’ve discussed the matter of the positions of our unions as it relates to the deferral of the salary adjustments. We now go back to our respective councils of managements to discuss the matters that were presented this evening.”

“Can you give us a simple idea if…”
Luke Palacio
“No. The answer to that is no. We have already explained that there is a process that we follow and we want to stick to the process. Thank you very much.”
O K Mr. Palacio, I know you are under stress right now, but take it easy and be a little more courteous to the media. As the media take your case up, they can also take it down. We want the media to be a means to pass the correct message to the teachers and public in general.
