Murder Cases Still Open; Will McAfee Documentary Help?

John McAfee

The Showtime Documentary, “Gringo: the Dangerous Life of John McAfee,” remains in the news tonight. In capturing McAfee’s life, producer Nanette Burstein told the story of two murders committed in Belize; that of Belizean David Middleton in Carmelita, Orange Walk and American National Gregory Faull on San Pedro. Even before Gringo was aired this past Saturday for the first time, some of McAfee’s former employees—who had been interviewed for the film—came forwarded saying that they were paid to lie about the antivirus mogul.  True or not, the documentary made very serious accusations and fingered alleged murderers who were purportedly hired by McAfee to carry out the hits. So given the revelations, can charges be levied against persons implicated?

ACP Chester Williams, Regional Commander, Eastern Division South

“I did see the documentary and like you said, it’s a very interesting documentary and there were several revelations made by some players in that documentary. And I think that it is something that the police can use to probe more into the death of Mister Middleton; that the name of the guy from Orange Walk. To see how we can use some of the things that have been said as a basis to be able to look at some of these persons and interview them further to see where we can take the investigation.”

Duane Moody

“Is there the possibility for any persons to be charged with even conspiracy to commit murder; in terms of the caretaker, the woman that allegedly lured Mister Faull and the alleged killer?  Anything that can be levied against these persons given what was said in the video?”

ACP Chester Williams

“Like I said, there are several interesting revelations and those are things that the police can look at to be able to revisit that case and see what, if anything, can be    obtained by those persons to be able to effect arrests on those individuals.”

Duane Moody

“Sir who would have to take that directive?”

ACP Chester Williams

“Well the directive would have to come from the investigators who have the case; the case is not closed. A murder investigation does not have any limitations so it is open still. The investigators still have hold of that matter and they can revisit those persons and revisit what was said on that video and see where to go from there.”

  1. Hatari says:

What the hell! It’s just another dead gringo . . . add it to the list of unsolved or botched murder investigations of dead gringos.

  2. Anais Nin says:

Do the people of Belize actually use the word Gringo for white men and women?

I would expect something more colorful or mysterious than the boring old Gringo.
