Kevin “Cowboy” Alvarez Walks from Attempted Murder of Cops

Kevin “Cowboy” Alvarez

Remember Kevin Alvarez, aka “Cowboy”? He is the former police officer who was accused of the murder of a Chinese businessman in Orange Walk back in 2008, but was exonerated. Well tonight, he is a free man once again after he walked today from the attempted murder of four police officers and two firearm charges. The most recent charges for which he was acquitted also came from the tragic night back in 2008 because police said four officers were shot at by their then colleague, Alvarez, when they set chase after him. This afternoon in the Orange Walk Supreme Court of Justice Herbert Lord, Prosecutor Javier Chan was forced to enter a nolle prosequi due to a lack of evidence to prove the charges. Reports suggest that the firearms, allegedly linking the accused to the crime, were tampered with. The murder took place at the corner of Park Avenue and Lover’s Lane in Orange Walk Town on March fourteenth, 2008 and Hui Lin Chen was killed.  That same night police apprehended “Cowboy” after an exchange of gunfire that left three police officers wounded.

Can’t the PD get anything right?! Can their conviction rate get any lower? What a waste of time and money as crime continues to eat away at our society.
