Harvest Caye Opened in Closed Ceremony
After four years, Belize’s first cruise ship port, Harvest Caye in southern Belize, was formally opened for business today. It is not known why the press was not invited to cover the event of this huge investment in the tourism industry. We can say however that at the onset of the project there was huge public outcry because only pocket tourism has been recommended by a national tourism master plan. The media was advised that the Press Office would cover, but up until today, we have received no footage from the Government. So it was left to the Belize Tourism Board to provide some details. Late today, the B.T.B. informed that nearly two thousand guests were present to mark the occasion. Colin Murphy of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Limited and Ministers Manuel Heredia and Edmund Castro were joined by Special Envoy for Women and Children and wife of the Prime Minister, Kim Simplis-Barrow, to cut the ribbon to open the port. The Minister of Tourism says five hundred direct jobs and more than three times that many jobs held indirectly by 2020 will be available due to this investment. Harvest Caye boasts seven acres of sandy beaches, luxurious villas, a fifteen-hundred square-foot pool and many dining options, as well as direct access to local wildlife, shopping and adventure and exploration onshore.
Our Belizean sheeple have been bread correctly by the despot’s that rule over us. We sit back and gnaw on the free grass that our masters allow us and turn a blind eye to the world around us. Can’t you blind sheep’s see that they are segregating us? This is exactly what selling out our country looks like, turning our natural treasures into private property for the rich foreigners while giving kickbacks to the corrupt few that enables the misappropriation of these cayes and lands. We will become so poor after taxation and devaluation hit us that we won’t even be able to afford to be tourist’s in our own country. Our children will never know just how beautiful their country is. Take a look at the tourism industry in Jamaica versus the economic reality for most of its people. They can talk till they are blue that Harvest caye will benefit us but I can guarantee you that any monies deposited will be in foreign banks well away from our banks and local economy. Thanks again for screwing the poor man yet again. My senior citizen mom asked “why do our corrupt officials need so much money, why are they so greedy?” The answer is simple, in the land of the poor the rich are kings.
