Rebecca Rath is a Stunner in Miss Universe Preliminaries

This morning, more than eleven million viewers watched the live streaming of the preliminary events of Miss Universe pageant held in Manila, Philippines. The top ladies from the swimsuit and evening gown will be named at the coronation event that airs here in Belize on Sunday, January twenty-ninth. Belize’s eyes will be watching closely as all hopes are on our representative Rebecca Rath who has been performing well since the start of this journey to the crown. This morning, Rath participated in all three events – the swimsuit and evening gown segments which were broadcast live and following that she also showcased her national costume – the depiction of a scarlet macaw that was designed and built by Belizean talent. Andrea Polanco has put together a brief highlight that features our candidate.

By this time, the official judges of the Miss Universe Organization know who the top twelve Miss Universe contestants will be for the sixty-fifth Miss Universe pageant to be held on Sunday. The twelve ladies will come from the group of eighty-six who all participated in the preliminary events of swimsuit, evening gown, interviews and fan online voting. On Thursday night in the Philippines, Belize’s representative Rebecca Rath took to the stage to compete for one of the twelve coveted spots.
“Belize. Belize volunteers as a high school volley ball coach. This twenty three year old was a superstar athlete in high school and college; and played on her country’s national volley ball team. Belize. Belize. Belize studied hotel and restaurant management in college and now helps to run her family’s resort. She enjoys kayaking and has a brown belt in karate. Belize. Belize. The Scarlet Macaw is a beautiful bird in Belize that is unfortunately a target of poachers. Rebecca chose the bird as inspiration for her national costume. Added to that, she also assisted in the concept creation. The wings are so large they had to be shipped to Manila in their own box. Enormous wings are her favorite things. Belize.”
On Coronation night, the top twelve beauties will model their swimsuits on stage. After that, twelve will be trimmed down to the top nine based on the nine highest averaged scores from the judges and the global fan vote.The nine ladies will advance to the evening gown competition, from which the top six will be chosen. These six ladies will enter the Final Question round. A judge will then ask each delegate a question on several topics concerning the world or the country they represent. The three candidates with the highest scores from that round will move on to the top three to present their final look.The next queen will be chosen based on overall performance where they will each be ranked, instead of scored.
