Cop Brothers Attacked Suitor for Ex-Girlfriend?

Cops gone crazy over engagement? One woman is alleging that two officers – one attached to Rural Eastern Division and the other assigned to Eastern Division South – made an attack on her son’s life on Saturday night.  Nineteen year old Michael Crawford had only just gotten engaged to a young woman on Friday and on Saturday evening, while he was at a house at Mile four, two police officers and another man rushed at Crawford and one of the officers took out a gun and fired at him. Crawford was later chased in a vehicle into the city where he was beat down by the cops and the civilian.  His mother said she has made a report but she is concerned that the attack on her son’s life was never reported to the media by the police.  She spoke with us off camera to explain what happened.

Voice of: Mrs. Andrews

“Saturday night – evening coming on to the night, Police wah he dead. They buss ah fire after him at the house.”

Andrea Polanco

“They fired a shot?”

“Who fired that shot? A police officer or a civilian?”

Voice of: Mrs. Andrews

“Yes. We took him to the hospital. I asked the doctor because he mi the bleed non-stop. “Now, did you get a chance to speak with the doctor and did he or she say how they would classify his injuries?”

Voice of: Mrs. Andrews

“I think it was grievous harm. It was grievous harm.”

Andrea Polanco

“Do you fear that these officers will make another attempt on your son’s life?”

Voice of: Mrs. Andrews

“They will because everybody is saying dah suh deh stay. Their own officer di say dah suh dem stay and we wish you luck. But I have faith in Mr Williams that deh wah find dem. I just wah know why deh nuh have out deh name, deh face inna the public to show people weh might know weh part they are and deh could find them.”

Crawford’s mother informed us this evening that the Police have since contacted her to bring in her son for them to do an identification parade to see if he can point out the men who attacked him – these men, according to Crawford, as you heard in the interview are two cops and another individual.

  1. Al says:

Damn. The guy is swelled up and in pain and vomiting blood and can’t even stand up, but they want him to come and do an identification parade. Otherwise you know that will go right so.
