Can You Help Toledo Boy Defeat Skin Condition?
A family from the deep south is asking for urgent financial and medical assistance for a young boy living with a painful skin condition known as dermatitis. Nelson Choc of Bella Vista, Toledo, has been living with his condition almost since he was born and the family have been told that he needs a course of treatment of at least six months to fully heal. The trouble is that the family does not have the money for those treatments, whether in Belize or outside. They visited News Five to ask for public assistance.
Luisa Choc, Grandmother of Nelson Choc
“I just dih come and ask help [from] the public and the people, because the doctors say a one-year treatment for him and I am short with money. That’s why they give me a paper to walk about and ask help. I am afraid; I try a little bit in my village where I come from, Bella Vista, but I stop. I thought about doing this and that’s why I come. The doctor said if I could find a special doctor, a skin doctor then I can go but he says I have to have money; where can I find it?”
