Museum of Belize Hosts Photographic Exhibit from Panama

Just before news time today, a photographic exhibit was launched at the Museum of Belize. Approximately sixty photos from the Club of Photography of Panama will be on display, starting today and will remain open for two months inside the museum for viewing by the public. The exhibition is the result of a partnership between the Museum of Belize and the Embassy of Panama in Belize. Earlier today, News Five spoke with President Francisco Frauca of the Club of Photography of Panama, who says that the pictures capture the traditions and customs of their country, which is similar to Belize.

“The photos that you are going to see here are the collective work of about twenty-four photographers from the club that shared their photograph with us and you are going to see different aspects of Panama culture, architecture, traditions. And as I mentioned the main idea is to share that with Belizeans and to see that we have been partners in our history.  We made a call for all photographers, active members of the club to send the best pictures of what they have in Panama based on five categories and based on that we have a special crew of photographers that are highly trained and that validate pictures for the FIAP that is an international photography association. So we used that expertise to evaluate pictures and bring here the best of the best that the active members brought to us. Most of them are in color; the black and white technique is special on some specific landscape pictures and some in portrait. And the idea is to make that mixture between the color delightful and the black and white serenity that it provides.”
