Police, Immigration’s “southern sweep” nets at least thirty immigrants
Reports from Punta Gorda say that as many as thirty women from the South will face immigration violation charges after a sweep over the weekend. Information from the area states that a team of police and Immigration officers conducted a operations at different bars. The women will be taken to court in Punta Gorda and Dangriga. Our source reports that many of the women claim they have kids here and been living here for decades. The Department made a similar sweep through Belize City at the end of last week and have also been active in central and western Cayo District.
