What happened to PC Florencio Rash? Internal probe coming
The images of a seemingly drunken cop captured by video and posted on social media has been trending all day. The cop, dressed in uniform, has been identified as Police Constable 1319 Florencio Rash. He is attached to precinct one in Belize City, but it has not been confirmed if the incident occurred in Belize City. According to a report, however, the cop was in Belmopan where he was picked up by a police mobile and taken to the station from where he was able to get away. Rash is seen lying on the ground with a police cap and handcuffs strewn on the ground nearby. In the forty second video, he is seen attempting to get up, but seemingly intoxicated; he staggers as he pulls himself up. Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams told the media today that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against him. Whether or not he was drunk will be determined at internal proceedings.
I once saw the policeman who was in charge of driving the Governor General around smoking Crack Cocaine. This was about 10 years ago.
There is a small Chinese store in front of Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan, where almost daily you can see Policemen, Traffic officers and other “Law Enforcement Officers”, drinking with their uniforms on. Trying to hide inside the premises behind Softdrink crates, such a shame on out “authorities”.
