Ignacio Vega Got Back Land in Belmopan from Belize Bank – How?
Recently, further revelations were made about the land-grabbing activities of the Vega family during Gaspar Vega’s tenure as Minister of Natural Resources. Tonight, News Five can share some documents concerning land originally turned over to the Belmopan City Council under Said Musa as Prime Minister, but which ended up in the hands of Ignacio German Vega in 2010. The land in question is almost two acres and was under the charge of the Belize Bank Limited, but Ignacio Vega got a new land certificate and references in the land registry to the status of the land were crossed out, with notations indicating that the certificate papered over all cracks. It does not clarify what was paid or what the current situation with the land is.
Why can’t GOB take all this land back from the Vegas and then make them prove how they got it. We are talking about millions of $$$$ stolen from the people of Belize. The Vegas should be held accountable . . . but will they? Oh that’s right, the PM said “It is what it is.” Corrupt bunch of %$#@(^%s !!!
