P.M. on Vega land deals: “What it is, is what it is”
It remains to be seen how the Prime Minister and Senator Doctor Carla Barnett, who has been put in day-to-day charge of the Ministry of Natural Resources, will react to the bombshell dropped by Amy Forte and her attorneys. But in response to a sheaf of documents totaling one hundred and eighteen, which detailed another land grab by members of the family of former minister Gaspar Vega on Ramsey Caye and the Spanish Creek area using similar tactics, the Prime Minister conceded that he would not argue with what the press has deduced, but contended that there was no cause of actionable illegality. In summary, “What it is is what it is.”

“What I’ve seen on the news? Why would I look at those documents? What it is; is what it is. You are able to document that people, on the face of it legitimately, got land and that they ended up afterwards selling it to particular persons. I don’t know that there is any actionable illegality there. But the implications and the conclusions that you have drawn are not anything I will argue with you over at all, at all.”
This is your Prime Minister, Belizeans..are you going to vote in more UDP crooks?
