Korea Helps Belize’s Foreign Affairs Ministry
This year, Belize and Korea are commemorating thirty years of diplomatic cooperation. To recognize this milestone, on Monday the Republic of Korea sent a delegation to Belize bearing a four hundred thousand dollar gift. Lee In-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in El Salvador, presented equipment and vehicles to Belize’s C.E.O. in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Patrick Andrews. Here’s how that went.
Pat Andrews, C.E.O., Ministry of Foreign Affairs
“The generous donation of approximately four hundred thousand Belize dollars will go a long way to help the capacity strengthening, not only at the IT Department and Protocol Unit, but that of the entire Ministry. Be assured, your Excellency, that the donation of equipment such as laptops, multi-functional printers, conference systems and other office devices, as well as the two vehicles, will be put to very best use possible. Congratulations to the Korean Government for their excellent bilateral relations that our countries enjoy as we commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Belize and the republic of Korea, this year will bring about even greater advancements in our bilateral relations and further consolidation of our friendship.”
Lee In-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Belize
“It is a pleasure for me to be here to salute all of you and hand over equipment to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on such a great occasion to celebrate the 36th anniversary of the independence of Belize. Our government has cooperated with Belize in playing a leading role in social and economic development and in responding proactively to public demands. We hope that official development assistance by Korean Government this year continues to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also to enhance the quality of life of Belizean people.”
