“The Puerto Rico and the San Juan That We Knew Yesterday Is No Longer There…”

After the hurricane devastated that island, it moved over towards the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico where it made landfall on Puerto Rico shortly after six this morning as a category four storm. The hurricane knocked out electricity on the entire island and it is being reported that electricity may be out for the next four to six months. There’s also widespread flooding and damage to infrastructure and homes and thousands remain in shelter. Since the hurricane hit the island, a curfew has been implemented going through to the weekend. There is no immediate word of any deaths or injuries on the island. The Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico told NBC that “the Puerto Rico and the San Juan that we knew yesterday is no longer there.”
