Second of three charged for pawn shop robbery

A second man was charged with the robbery and aggravated assault of thirty-six-year-old Dorian Usher of Monica’s Pawn Shop. Twenty-three-year-old Kendale Carcamo of Ebony Street, Belize City, was arraigned in Court Number Two before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford. In court, Carcamo was unrepresented and was read two criminal offences; robbery with a firearm and one count of aggravated assault with a firearm upon Usher. Carcamo pleaded not guilty to both charges. Due to the nature of the offences, bail was denied and he was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until January 31, 2018. On Tuesday, twenty-one-year-old Dean Albert Nembhard Jr., of Nutmeg Street, Belize City, was arraigned on a single charge of robbery for the same incident. The robbery happened on Thursday, December fourteenth, outside Monica’s Pawn Shop on the corner of Cemetery and Elston Kerr Street. Usher reported that he was walking outside of the business when three men approached him. One of the men pulled out a pistol, pointed it at Usher and demanded his valuables. Fearing for his life, Usher handed over his jewelry valued over three thousand dollars.
