The Ahmads, a Decent Family
Fareed’s father was philosophical about the way of life of his family. He believes that following the Muslim religion has led to a straight and narrow up-bringing of his children.
Abdus Ahmad, Father of Deceased
“We have made a lot of striving a lot of effort; sacrificing the discipline from our religion, our conduct of being decent; if not being the best human being. As a father, I am very close to my family. And I love my children, but I monitor my children for conduct and I display among them—you would say—merits that evolve or exude from their character, which is most important to me. I am the person who if I am dissatisfied, I let them know. If I see them moving away from the principles of our religion, of the decent life, I inform them of it. That is my primary concern as a father. I don’t love unconditionally; I love with condition. That’s me; I was raised that way and the principles of such I hold on to and it is also the principles of the religion and the way of life I subscribe to.”
On Wednesday, we will hear from the leader of the Muslim community.
