Civic’s Lights Fizzle Twice

Is faulty wiring the cause of an electrical short at the newly built Civic Center?  It is reported that personnel from the National Fire Service responded to a call on Friday night that sparks and smoke were seen coming from an area of the building where a light had blown out.  On Tuesday night, another light is said to have fizzled atop another section of the edifice.  Fire Chief Ted Smith has confirmed that the department was called out to the scene.  So were personnel from Belize Electricity Limited who showed up sometime after nine o’clock.  Over the past few weeks, the plumbing of the structure has also been called into question.  Officials from Belize Infrastructure Limited have dispelled the notion that the plumbing is not structurally sound.  They are yet to comment on the electrical situation at the Civic Center.
