Honduran Visitor Has Rough Experience: Stabbed and Robbed
A Honduran national visiting Belize was the victim of a vicious attack on Thursday night. Reports are that just before midday police were called out to a bus stop in the eight miles community on the George Price Highway where they discovered forty-one-year-old Luis Roberto Sanders. Sanders was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released and has since returned to his home country. But the details of his ordeal read like that from the script of a horror movie. According to Sanders, he was socializing at a house in Belize City with three persons, and around eleven p.m., he left the house in a car with two men to pick up a fourth person. He was instead taken to the area of Homeland Memorial Park where he was forced out of the vehicle.
Fearing for his life, Sanders attempted to flee from the men, but was injected with a tranquilizer. One of his attackers then took out a knife and inflicted a large cut wound to the back of his neck, stabbed him to the chest, before robbing him of his gold chain valued at about one thousand dollars. News Five has been informed that Sanders has requested no criminal action and has since left the country.
Why bother coming to Belize if you’re just going to get robbed, beaten up, stabbed or killed? No point, really.
