Woman Corporal Charged with Stabbing Male Constable Partner

Woman Corporal of Police, Audrey Moody, faces charges of dangerous harm stemming from a domestic dispute at her home over the holiday weekend. The victim is a fellow officer and her common-law husband, Constable Hector Esquivel, who remains hospitalized in stable condition. ACP Joseph Myvett relayed the details of the criminal and internal investigation.

“In relation to the matter of P.C. [Hector] Esquivel, an official report was made, and police have since arrested and charged Audrey Moody, Corporal of Police, for the crime of dangerous harm.”

“With this particular incident, even though she is criminally charged, will there be an internal investigation to see if the internal workings of police will prefer charges on her as well, disciplinary or otherwise.”

“In relation to these types of issues, certainly the Professional Standards Branch is doing a parallel investigation, and those may as well as may not lead to charges based on the outcome of their investigation.”
Corporal Moody was read the charge before Magistrate Ladonna John in San Ignacio on Wednesday and ordered remanded until next Thursday, May thirty-first.
