Expat in Critical Condition after he was shot and robbed

Clifford Kirk

An American expat was shot this morning in San Pedro when robbers stormed inside his home. Tonight, sixty-year-old Clifford Kirk, better known as ‘Cliff’, is fighting for his life after he was shot in the head. Around eleven-thirty this morning, four robbers went to Kirk’s house located at miles ten and a half on the northern end of San Pedro.  They met Kirk walking down his steps and one of the armed men fired a shot which caught him in the left side of the head. After shooting Kirk, the men invaded the house and stole a nine millimeter pistol, a twelve gauge shotgun and a briefcase with an undisclosed sum of cash. The robbers got away on a jet ski.  Kirk was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic before he was airlifted to Belize City this afternoon and remains in a critical condition. Kirk and his wife have served more than twenty years in the U.S. Army.  They’ve been visiting Belize since the 1980’s and after they retired, they relocated to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye many years ago.  They have developed a property called ‘Casa Brisa by the Sea’ that is rented out to visitors. Kirk is described as an active and well known member of the expat community on the island.

Hope they find these fools and receive harsh punishment. Cliff hope you recover fully. Why isn’t Barrow saying anything about crime
