Story Picture
The Pan American Health Organisation is intimately involved across a wide spectrum of health issues in Belize, but it is the first time that the organisation is promoting the issue that quality health care is a human right. The session, which will take place on Thursday night, is part of PAHO’s centennial celebration. PAHO country representative, Dr. Graciela Uriburu, says there is a need to put more emphasis on quality health care.

“At this time and all the times, we need to promote quality health care. The health care exists everywhere where a human being is, but the problem is that we need to have good doctors that could give high quality health care to the populations and to the ill persons. So we need to promote that, that is our main commitment, to promote quality health care.”

On Thursday, Dr. Victor Penchaszadeh, a Professor of Paediatrics will be presenting a talk on health, bio-ethics and patient’s rights. PAHO invites the public to attend the session, which will take place at the Radisson, beginning at 6:30 on Thursday night.
