Dept. of Women launch health and nutrition month
This month the Department of Women’s Affairs has organized a number of activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. During Health and Nutrition Month, sessions will be held focusing on diseases such as cancer, diabetes and various heart conditions. The talks are scheduled to take place at health centers in the city, and according to D.W.A. officer, Sharon McKay, the public needs to know more about taking better care of themselves.
Sharon McKay, Officer, D.W.A.
“The theme for the month is “Health and Nutrition: a challenge to exchange health destructive habits for a healthier lifestyle.” Simply because we noticed that a lot of women and men and children don’t eat properly and because of this, they suffer from several diseases or health issues that are affecting them.”
Jacqueline Woods
“What are some of the activities that will be taking place?”

“We’ll be having some sessions in the Port Loyola, Lake Independence and Queen’s Square area for four weeks, then we will conclude the month with a fair in Lake Independence.”
