First case of interest of Influenza A (H1N1) in Dangriga
There is a first case of interest of the Influenza A (H1N1) in southern Belize. The Ministry of Health told News Five today that there are six new suspected cases of the flu including one from Dangriga. The others, according to epidemiologist, Doctor Paul Edwards, are from Corozal, Orange Walk, and Belize City. It is expected that late this evening results of the six cases will be known from Trinidad. And while locally there have not been any confirmed cases, there is an increase in the number of cases of the virus in neighboring Mexico and the United States. According to a report, there are now two thousand four hundred and forty-six confirmed cases in Mexico and three thousand three hundred and fifty two in the U.S. The W.H.O. confirms that there are now six thousand four hundred and ninety-seven cases of the flu worldwide.
