A Challenge to the Police Department on Drug Plane Landings
The transshipment of narcotics through northern Belize, particularly via unregistered aircrafts landing on clandestine runways in the far reaches of the Orange Walk and Corozal Districts, continues unabated. In most, if not all reported cases, the response of law enforcement personnel has been sluggish; with officers arriving at the scene of the destruction long after the illicit cargo flown into Belize has been discharged. One civilian who identifies himself in the social media realm as Vincent Edwards, presumably an alias, is challenging the brass of the police department on its knowledge of the illegal landings. Along with images of the cargo holds of aircrafts laden with bricks of drugs posted to his Facebook page, Edwards purports that the senior command probably knows more than it is letting off. The posts have gone viral and some of it coincides with official information on recent landings. The information is unconfirmed but it begs the question, nonetheless, of inside knowledge of this activity. In a previous interview with Junior Minister Elodio Aragon, the Minister of State for National Security admits that it’s a serious concern for the Government of Belize.

“That is always a concern, I mean these are some serious, serious criminal activity, you know. It‘s not the stealing of a sweet in the store, you‘re talking about drug trafficking and it‘s a serious concern for national security, a serious concern for the police department because these are the things that if we don‘t put a check on it will lead to greater issues in the very near future and I think that we have to look at it and it‘s not so easy, but we as a department with the resources and technology we have do what we can. But I do believe that there is more that can be done and we must do more…”
Of course you won’t get all the information. Why?? Because obviously the police officers are involved some government officials and also rich business people in those areas are all involved this is narco trafficking not a man selling nickel and dimes
Elodie, you’re a joke to call this sweet in a candy store. You have no qualifications for the job you hold and if you do, you bought it online, because your tactics speak poorly. All of the officials and Government ministers in that area are complicit of the activities occurred in the area, but they would rather see your kids kill one another for a few $$$ in their pockets.
