Opposition Leader Criticizes G.O.B.’s Response to Suspected Drug Plane Landings

Opposition Leader John Briceño today reacted to Government’s position on what is calls ‘false information on social media.’  Briceño says that the government is not doing enough to address the recent spate of drug plane landings.

“So we are in March, April, May, June, July, August- six months after and no action has been taken. It makes you wonder what has been happening. There have been consistent reports about planes landing not only in the north but also in the south. There is a general perception that there are people high up in the government, giving them the necessary protection because it’s so happens whenever they land in one area you find afterwards that the police were sent somewhere else. It makes you question what is going on. This government has the responsibility to this country to ensure that we go after the criminals and what we are seeing right now is that law and order is breaking down in this country. More and More people are afraid to walk the streets. We have more brazen, daylight murders. You have holdups and people just feel totally helpless. They feel helpless and they feel there is absolutely nothing that they can do. We have an incompetent government right now and they have been unable to work on the issue of crime head on.”
