Supt. David Chi & PC Norman Anthony Suspended for Huge Cocaine Bust
Police have confirmed late this afternoon that a senior officer has been placed on a five-day administrative leave beginning today pending further investigation into a huge cocaine bust over the weekend. He is Superintendent David Chi, who is the officer in command at the Orange Walk Police Station. Chi has been heading that formation for about three years. Constable Norman Anthony was among a group of men nabbed on September ninth when a drug plane landed in Tres Leguas, near Blue Creek; he has also been suspended.
A release from the police late this afternoon confirmed that Assistant Commissioner of Police Robert Mariano is heading the police investigation into the plane landing because it is suspected that other officers may have been involved.
