Draft Results of External Audit at NICH

Last Friday, the deputy prime minister Patrick Faber said that the external audit at NICH would be completed by today. From what we know the draft audit found that the internal auditor did not carry out due diligence. According to the external auditors Baker Tilly Hulse, “in our opinion sufficient due diligence was not applied by the internal auditor by establishing reasonableness and completeness of occurrences and transaction.” Additional audit procedures would have sufficiently mitigated and/or clarified the observations and findings reported. The Board now awaits a final version of the external audit and will determine the way forward of President Sapna Budhrani, who has been placed on administrative leave.
