Eugene Reneau Freed of Rape Charge
A former BWS employee walked from a rape charge today after more than four years awaiting trial. Fifty-six-year-old Eugene Reneau was accused of raping a twenty-seven-year-old woman in March 2014 near mile ten and a half on the Philip Goldson Highway. Today, when Reneau appeared before Justice Adolph Lucas, Crown Counsel Sherigne Rodriguez entered a nolle prosequi in the case because the victim indicated that she does not want to proceed with the matter against him. The victim in her statement to the court said that she had forgiven Reneau for what he had done and that they are now friends.
