10-Year-Old Cancer Patient Jaylen Young Dies

Tonight it is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of Jaylen Young. We reported last week on the ten-year-old who was battling a cancerous tumor which was growing fast on his brain stem. Many visited with him after our story was aired to lift his spirits, but his health deteriorated quickly and we confirmed that he died at the K.H.M.H. this morning at around ten o’clock. His father, Michael Young, explained to News Five that Jaylen had begun vomiting and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. He died minutes after his father arrived this morning.

“Due to the brain tumor that he has, it caused a lot of vomiting. So while vomiting he could not breathe that well. We brought him here and they decided to admit him. Then after, she called me this morning and explained to me that he is not breathing well so I decided to come over. When I came over, I checked his pulse. It was not moving. I listened to his heart and it was beating fast. Couple minutes after it stopped. I was right there in the room with him. I guess he was just waiting to hear my voice.  Thanks to the entire country of Belize, who all saw the case and those who came out, people from America, some of them called us and I want to say thanks to them too.”
