“I got up like two-thirty. I fed her with brown sugar and water because I don’t give her the milk at night and then I belched her and put her back on her belly to sleep because I know if she vomits it will bring up everything because she is on her belly. By the time when I got up by three o’clock again and I checked her, motionless, no breathing, no nothing. I picked up her and when I picked up her like sudden, she always stiff up like if she is afraid of heights. She didn’t make any sound, no nothing. I figured something was wrong.”

“What went through your mind when you saw her, she no responding?”
“I just start panic. I just get confused and I run and hail my brother in law. He brought her outside and I hail my auntie because she worked at BERT. I took her for her to check her and see if it is the breathing or anything. She did CPR. She pumped her and everything and she was not responding.”

“She was taken to the hospital?”
Siambiat Garnett
“Yes we called the ambulance. They reached like twenty minutes after. They pumped her again to check if they can bring her back and nothing worked. After that the crime scene came and they took pictures and just made us take her to the hospital.”

“Did the medical officials did not tell you anything about what could have been the cause?”
Siambiat Garnett
“No, they did not tell me anything. They just said they could find any wound or anything on the baby knowing that she was not knocked, dropped or anything. They didn’t find any bruise on the body, no nothing.”
Richard Rowland, Father of Deceased
“It was a shocked to me. It was the first time something like this happens in my life. The reason why it hurt me is because it was in my presence. One thing I want to tell all the men out there on my behalf it is hard to lose a child worse of your own. All I want to do as a young couple, I want the entire community, the nation, to know that when you have a child out here to put in your all because life out there is very short.”
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
