Meningitis scare all but over
The four children who had been hospitalised for possible symptoms of meningitis are tonight home with their families. The infants, ranging in ages from three to five years old, are still on antibiotic treatment, but health authorities have determined that the risk of infection is slim to none. All four children were admitted to ward on Tuesday with high fevers, but since then their conditions have significantly improved. The official results of the culture tests conducted on the children will be available tomorrow, but doctors expect it to be negative for meningitis. A classmate of the children, four year old Jevan Wade, died on Tuesday night from the disease.
