Belizeans in Michigan donate to K.H.M.H.
The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital is today the recipient of a handsome donation of medical equipment and supplies valued at close to a million dollars. The contribution, which came courtesy of Belizeans living in Michigan, was forwarded through the Friends of Karl Heusner organisation. Minister of Health Jose Coye accepted the donation as a kind gesture from the Belizean community in the United States.
Jose Coye, Minister of Health
“Here is a group of people, the Friends of Karl Heusner, who through their efforts, have brought to this hospital almost a million dollars, and it’s not a once and for all, it’s been an ongoing thing. The more we can tap into this, I’m setting up a special unit within the Ministry, to see how they can aggressively pursue these kinds of offers throughout the world. I think it will go a far way in helping this hospital and I must congratulate the group tremendously.”
Ann-Marie Williams
“The equipment and supplies will all remain here at the K.H.M.H., or will it be distributed country-wide?”
Jose Coye
“This is especially for the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. We’ll be getting others for the hospital throughout and we’re going to strengthen that unit within the Ministry.
