Big Baby Tests Positive for Banned Substance
Belizean/American heavyweight contender Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller is scheduled to face Anthony Joshua in a title bout on June first, but the news tonight is that the well-known boxer has reportedly tested positive for a banned substance. The results are those of a random urine test that Miller submitted to on March twentieth by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association. This means that his match with Joshua at the famed Madison Square Garden is in jeopardy since he is likely to face a one-year suspension. Of note is that it is not the first time that “Big Baby” Miller has failed a drug test. While it is a first in his career as a professional boxer, in 2014, as a kick boxer, he tested positive and was suspended for nine months. Ironically, Miller, whose record is stellar, spent a lot of time during his press tour alleging that Joshua, a British champion who holds three heavyweight titles, was using performance-enhancing drugs. Having set a date and a venue for Joshua’s U.S. debut, it is likely that a replacement fighter will selected. So for all those Belizeans waiting anxiously for the big match, don’t hold your breath.
