Leo Bradley Library Host 7th Annual Health Fair

A health fair was also held today in Belize City. The seventh annual Leo Bradley Library health fair took place at the library’s compound where a number of informational booths were erected for the public. The theme this year was Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Life. Senior Library Assistant Shanna Vacarro tells us more.

“We know that health is essential for all and we would like each and every person to leave her knowing that healthy life or living begins from birth. So we need to be aware of the food that we consume and how much we consume. We are in a society where we are finding that a lot of people are suffering from kidney disease where they have to do dialysis. So you have to eat healthy, drink healthy, exercise which is important. If you find yourself with diabetes you can end up doing dialysis which is expensive so prevention is better than cure.”
