This marks the second leg of the 2019 tour which kicked off in Europe back in June and concluded on Sunday. Today, before the band left Belize, we spoke with band member Emilio Thomas. He shares more about the upcoming tour.
Emilio Thomas, Member, Garifuna Collective
“We are starting off in Utah at Montana Folk Fest and we have an extensive tour leading up to October in the United States and Canada. So, this is going to be our North American tour before we head off to Taiwan. It is gonna be a totally different experience for us because this is going to be a long leg. It is going to be super. We are going to be moving. There is no stopping right now. There is going to be a lot of energy on the stage because if you notice the band has many generations on the stage and this is what makes this unique. And the upcoming album, Aban, is going to be an incredible one with tradition and modern sounds and rhythms and what’s not.”
