Calla Creek farmer found decapitated

Crime in Belize seems to be getting more bizarre with every passing week. Around 7:30 Wednesday night police found twenty-eight year old Karim Armando Gomez, a farmer who lives in Benque Viejo lying face up with his severed head placed between his legs. The fully clothed corpse was found in the victim’s farmhouse at nearby Calla Creek. Reports are that Gomez was last seen around 3:00 p.m. Thursday after selling thirteen head of cattle. The prime suspect in the murder and apparent robbery is a Honduran employee of Gomez who saw the farmer receive the money for his cows. The Honduran was last seen riding Gomez’s horse toward the Guatemalan border.
