B.T.B. and Partners Offer Attractive Deals to Belizeans at First Ever Belize Travel Expo
The Belize Tourism Board will be hosting the first Belize Travel Expo, called Beltravex. It is a component of its Belizean Traveller campaign which was launched in August. The campaign serves to encourage Belizeans to be tourists and experience their own country. The B.T.B. says it has been well received by Belizeans, and this Saturday, September twenty-eighth, B.T.B.’s partners are going to be providing some very sweet deals to Belizeans. But there is more to the expo, which actually starts on Friday, when the B.T.B. will be engaging some thirteen hundred secondary and tertiary level students and teachers from twenty-two institutions who will be able to learn about the tourism industry and different tourism products and services available in country.

“When we began the planning of Beltravex, we set out two primary objectives, the first of which is an educational component and it’s focused on secondary and tertiary students providing a platform for them to learn about the tourism industry and the different tourism products and opportunities available. The second object I’ve was to ultimately to boost local tourism, encourage Belizeans living in Belize as well as Belizeans living abroad to chose Belize as their vacation destination of choice and to be a tourist in your own country.”

“A lot of the hotels, they do offer Belizean rates but they just don’t advertise it so we are hoping that this would be like a spring board to get more, people are more aware that there are Belizean rates but still come to Beltravex and you are gonna get rate that you ordinarily cannot get.”
The travel expo coincides with world tourism day on Friday which is observed under the theme is “Tourism and Jobs, a Better Future for All.”
