Nursing Task Force Vex with Ministries of Health and Public Service
The Nurses Task Force today fired off a one-page press statement calling out the ministries of Health and Public Services for acting in bad faith. The release says that the Nursing Task Force met to follow up on recommendations made to the ministries to address issues affecting the nursing profession. According to the President of the Nurses Association of Belize, Darrell Spencer, despite efforts, the ministries have failed to respond to these pressing matters in a timely and efficient manner.

“We said bad faith as the choice of words there because we have being going through now with meetings and letters to the different ministries concerned for the better part of four months now and we have not seen the results that we had requested from the inception of these talks. Also during one of these meetings there were certain promises made and up to today noting has been made to the fulfillment f these promises. As a matter of fact the situation even got worse where apart from what we were promise something towards the opposite actually was final. These are the things that we want to renegotiate, get clarified so that the ministries can make good on their promises.”
