No to Medical Waste in San Antonio
Over the weekend, residents of San Antonio Village in Toledo District held a protest during which they strongly objected to the disposal of medical waste in a pit dug behind the Isabel Palma Polyclinic. Our colleagues from PGTV say that the issue arises from a lack of proper facilities at the Punta Gorda Hospital to incinerate the unwanted material. Led by Toledo West Area Representative Oscar Requeña, protestors carried posters demanding that human refuse not be discarded or burned in the village. News Five will seek to get a comment from the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.
