M.O.H. and the Nurses Task Force Meet

There was a meeting this morning at the Ministry of Health in Belmopan. The Nurses Task Force has been at odds with the Ministry on a number of issues. According to a brief post, the Ministry says Health Minister Pablo Marin and officials met with the Task Force. One of the issues is the urgent filling of the Post for Deputy Director Health Services /Chief Nursing Officer. The taskforce is also saying that a nurse should be included on the selection panel in the recruitment of nurses. We are told that an interview has been held and a suitable candidate has been nominated for the post of Deputy Director of Health Services for Nursing and has been submitted to the Ministry of the Public Service.  The Minister expressed his intention to move forward on several other matters but he awaits the decision of the Public Service on that critical post.
